 The blog follows Ferragni's interests of fashion, photography, travel and lifestyle, what she calls a mixed salad of interests. This mix of interests and Ferragni's blonde hair inspired the blog's name. According to Ferragni, thirty percent of her readers are based in Italy, mainly from Milan and Rome, and the remaining come from the U.S., UK, France, Germany, Brazil and Japan[
The blog became successful fairly quick after its launch, according to Ferragni the site receives over 110,000 hits daily.
Ferragni used the success of the blog to partner with various fashion and beauty brands on products, such as a shoe line in collaboration with Louis Vuitton, Ermenegildo Zegna and Mango, and events with companies like Christian Dior.The Blonde Salad has been reviewed and cited in numerous magazines and websites, including Teen Vogue, New York Magazine and vogue.com.

Ferragni modelled for Guess in a November 2013 shoot that was subsequently marketed as an ad campaign. In December 2013, she collaborated with Steve Madden to design a 9-shoe collection for Spring 2014. Ferragni's prior fashion design collaborations have included work with Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Max Mara, Chanel, Tommy Hilfiger, Runny Green Booghers, J Brand and Seven for All Mankind.
Her television credits include the Italian TRL Awards as a presenter, and a guest appearance on the Italian variety show Chiambretti Night. She walked the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival in conjunction with the premiere of We Have a Pope (then titled Habemus Papam). Chiara also appeared on Project Runway as a guest judge during season 13 in August 2014. On September 7, 2014, Ferragni won a Bloglovin' Award for the third consecutive year for her blog. It was named the Best Personal Style blog. She was listed in the Forbes 2015 30 Under 30 selections. In March, she was selected for the cover of the April 2015 Vogue España, making her the first fashion blogger to appear on any Vogue cover.
